Hello again, and thank you for visiting Greenbar. In this post, we’re going to use an example file from the website of the Maldives Monetary Authority as a source for a dashboard. The exercise will offer techniques in extracting data from PDF sources using Monarch and then in using Tableau’s geocoding functions to present an analysis on a map. We’ll also look at some common misconceptions about data layouts that are helpful neither for humans nor for computers. Again, you can work through this exercise on your own PC using the free trial versions of Monarch and Tableau.
Hello, and thanks for visiting Greenbar. In our second post, we’re going to provide a worked example of report mining and visual analytics, from the source data to the interactive dashboard. I’d like to thank Datawatch for allowing me to use their “Classical Music Distributors” sample files, and Tableau for providing Tableau Public which drives the embedded dashboard below. Please note that you can recreate every step of this on your own PC using the trial versions of Monarch and Tableau.
Hello and welcome to Greenbar’s blog, which I hope will provide a little context and some practical examples of our work. Business Intelligence is a minefield for buzzword bingo fans - so perhaps I should start by clarifying the “agile” in the title. An agile solution to a problem is one that can be delivered with the fewest delays, any additional resources, or formal processes.
